For this new Talk, we will be pleased to welcome [David Bennett] - (founding member of Melbourne Angels)
David Bennett has been a software developer for nearly 45 years, spanning all kinds of hardware, software, techniques and technologies. He started and ran his own business creating software products for 30 years and over that time hired many developers, senior and junior. He is also a founding member of Melbourne Angels and now invests in other software start-ups.
It is said that it takes 10,000 hours working at a field to master it, and nowhere is that more true than making software. Junior developers face a huge challenge getting noticed, getting hired and getting that mastery. But there are some things they can do to stand out from the crowd, to show their potential and to be given that opportunity. David has some thoughts on what they might be.
